Our challenge winners:
The SENS Foundation – Grand prize: $5,000
Develops and promotes widespread access to regenerative medicine solutions to the disabilities and diseases of aging.
“Thousands of our supporters shared their words of encouragement for our mission, and this effort has created more dialog between our organization and our supporters.”
Dr. Aubrey de Grey, Chief Science Officer for the SENS Foundation
Comments about SENS:
“I have a lovely husband. However, there is one problem: he is older than me. Now, there is nothing unusual about that, but it means one thing clearly: one day, I am likely to be a widow. Statistically, I have fifteen or twenty years of widowhood to look forward to. There is nothing so great about being a widow. End widowhood now…support SENS so that we might all live in a world without widows, a world without aging.”
-Syahidah_Osman
“The moral, humanitarian and practical case for longer and healthier lives is very strong. The fact that it took humanity this long to see ageing as a problem in need of a solution rather than “the way things are” is going to be a historical embarrassment as big as not ending slavery earlier.”
-arenamontanus
“Just because everybody ages it is not seen as a disease. When aging strikes very young, like those rare kids who look 70 at 17, then it is seen as a disease. This is ironic, because one would think the more people have a disease, the more important it is to cure it. Anyway, head up and best of succes to SENS.”
-sturman
“SENS is, plainly and simply, a moral imperative. If you’ve ever been to Wembley Stadium, you know what it’s like to be surrounded by a hundred thousand people; that’s how many lives are snuffed out, every day, by the diseases of aging. Picture those hundred thousand dead, and answer me this: how can you refuse to do anything possible to help end the slaughter?”
-transhumanist
“SENS represents an approach which would be considered obvious in any other field. Damage exists; repair it. It is no big deal, except that for some reason people are unable to fully accept the mechanistic nature of the body at this point.”

Un caro abbraccio! Paolo (Italy-Firenze)
“The LAHH organization was just an idea in the mind several years ago of some dear friends of mine. They took the proper steps to turn it into a reality and are now changing lives. A very ambitious project that is fully backed by positivity.”
Eborlenghi
“This is an awesome endeavor because it fills a sore need in the community. The founders and managers are great people and truly love and care for the people they are helping. The US is definitely a better place for this organization and I hope to see it spread to other areas so that additional veterans can benefit from its efforts.”
Stevenpost
“Great work. Often PTSD goes untreated and that is no life that anyone should be left to live…especially those that serve.”

Institute of Heartmath – Third Prize, Health: $1,000
Researches and develops stress management and wellness tools.
“I was pleasantly surprised by the in-depth comments many of our supporters wrote. Their heartfelt comments confirm a faith in how much people care. We reached out and asked for support and we got so much back. Social networking is a liquid conduit that facilitates the process of connecting.”
Sara Childre, President, Institute of HeartMath
Comments about Heartmath:
“Having worked in international adoption and medical help for needy children in Russia and the former Soviet countries, I was very excited to find HeartMath and got the program for my daughter, who had spent her first 7 years in a Russian orphanage. This program was very beneficial to her for anxiety and many of the challenges she faced. I was able to recommend it with confidence to other adoptive families and received excellent feedback on their results.”
Lightchild
“HeartMath has shown increased evidence of the mind/body connection. Their tools have begun to assist me in letting go of stress and I am feeling much better as a result. This Institute does amazing work and I support them in their efforts. Bravo!”
shainasbeautiful
“Integrating the principles of the research of IHM [HeartMath] in my private practice has improved the level of health and well being on a very noticeable level for my client base. My clients learn about the principles of resonance and the power of positive emotions-and the effects on health both physically and emotionally. As this principle is applied in all areas of ones life, the effects are empowering and uplifting on a global scale. What could be more deserving of further support than the betterment of all?”
BrookieBeee
“If HeartMath was a required course in school, our children would be more equipped to handle the challenges that the future will bring. There would be less violence and more peace and harmony in the world.”
